The Full Story

Hello and welcome!

 

My name is Lisa and I'm thrilled you've decided to visit my new site My Well Mind!  This is something I have been working towards for years, my true passion.  A deep desire to share the benefits of mindfulness, positive psychology, nature and yoga with you to improve your overall wellbeing - mental, emotional, physical and spiritual (if that moves you).  And more then that, my true aspiration is that by working together to build more acceptance, love and joy for and within our own lives, we will also build love, joy and acceptance for others and the planet.  We will come to understand that we are all in this together, that we all wish to be happy, and that we can rejoice in the happiness and health of others and our world as well as our own.  Maybe it sounds utopian, but you know what, I'm okay with that!. :)  It may not be easy, but it seems worth it. 

 

In the meantime, we are learning to be okay with things as they are in the present, including with ourselves.  We are building resilience, and learning a new and profound way of being with the stress and chaos of our lives (and the bigger picture chaos happening in the global sphere) and finding courage and inspiration, gratitude, kindness and generosity.  Wow - right?

 

 My background is varied, it has been a journey for sure, and I feel like it will be a lifelong one, one that I am grateful for as it has led me here.  My academic background is in the environmental sciences as well as teaching.  And I am also a trained Positive Psychology and Wellbeing Coach, Yoga Teacher and Mindfulness Teacher.  If you find it beneficial/reassuring, I've listed all of my credentials (the ddets) below.  

 

I am also a wife, mother of two rambunctious boys and one spirited little rescue dog, daughter to an elderly widowed Italian mom (a force), sister to my ever kind and loving brother, neighbour to my most wonderful and eclectic 'found' family, friend to many strong, beautiful and brilliant women, etc.  As with all of us, we are many things, always changing, learning, being.  It's a crazy life sometimes, but one brimming with love!  Anytime I begin to feel self-doubt or self-pity creep in, I accept them of course, as a budding mindfulness practitioner (this is supposed to be funny, but may not land with everyone), and then all I have to do is read what I just wrote to realize all that I have to be grateful for.

Okay, enough blabbing on, let's dig in and find something that help you on your journey of awakening to love, peace, acceptance, courage and willingness to step into the amazing groundlessness and freedom that can be ours!  And, let's have FUN doing it!
